Yacht hull running efficiently at speed — naval architecture by Brineglass

Services

Naval Architecture

Naval architecture is the quiet engineering beneath every beautiful yacht: hull lines, stability, structure, weight, systems and compliance. Brineglass keeps this discipline in-house, so our designs are proven feasible from the very first sketch.

We deliver complete engineering packages for new builds — and independent technical review for owners buying or refitting elsewhere.

What is included

01

Hull design

Hull lines developed and tank-tested in software for efficiency, comfort and seakeeping in real conditions.

02

Stability & tonnage

Intact and damage stability, tonnage studies and freeboard — documented for flag and class approval.

03

Structure

Steel, aluminium or composite scantlings engineered with the yard for strength without excess weight.

04

Propulsion & systems

Conventional, hybrid and fully electric drive studies with fuel, range and noise predictions.

05

Class & flag

Drawing approval, surveys and certification support with all major classification societies.

How we work

STEP 01

Requirements

Speed, range, draft limits and cruising grounds fixed into a technical brief.

STEP 02

Hull & analysis

Lines, CFD studies and weight estimates iterated until performance is proven.

STEP 03

Class package

Full calculation and drawing sets submitted for class and flag approval.

STEP 04

Build & trials

Inclining experiments, inspections and sea-trial attendance through delivery.

Questions

Can you engineer another designer's concept?

Yes — we provide standalone naval architecture for third-party styling, including feasibility checks before you commit to a yard.

Which construction materials do you cover?

Steel, aluminium, composite and wood-epoxy. Each material gets its own structural approach and yard strategy.

Do you handle hybrid and electric propulsion?

Yes. We model drive options against your real cruising profile so efficiency claims are honest, not brochure figures.

Will you attend sea trials?

Every full engineering commission includes inclining, inspections and sea-trial attendance through final delivery.
